Welcome to The Academy for Personal Development

You are an incredible woman with talents bestowed upon you by a loving Father in Heaven. You are His daughter and with that privilege comes the responsibility of learning all you can here in this life. He knows you. He knows your challenges, your heartbreaks, your hopes, your dreams, and your potential. He knows the capacity you have to do great things—which often come about through the smaller, seemingly insignificant actions of everyday life.
Purpose of The Academy:
The Academy for Personal Development was created to help you both discover hidden talents and gain the courage needed to use and share the gifts that you’ve already found inside yourself. It is meant to help you learn to develop positive habits that will bring you closer to our Savior and Father in Heaven, and help you to make a positive difference in the world around you, which, in turn, will result in living a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.
As you participate in the Academy, it is our hope that your testimony of Jesus Christ will be strengthened, that your fundamental belief in your divine heritage will increase, and that you will come to a greater understanding of just how unique, wonderful, and needed you are.
Heavenly Father is the ultimate Master Potter. He works with us, molding us, teaching us tools and techniques that will allow us to be successful in our lives. We strive to become like Him. The Academy for Personal Development provides each participant with the opportunity to earn certificates of achievement, first, as an Apprentice, then a Journeyman, and finally, a Master-Craftsman in one of thirteen different departments by selecting and finishing various goal experiences. You will begin as a Hobbiest and may progress through the different certificates available as desired.
The Academy provides opportunities in areas that parallel various aspects of life. Things that we all encounter on a daily basis. In order to earn a certificate in one of the departments, you will successfully complete several goal experiences in that area, along with a few from each of the other departments.
No matter which certificate you choose to work toward, there will be a special project to complete after finishing eight goal experiences in your department, five goal experiences in Religious Studies, and at least one goal experience from each of the other departments.
You may decide whether you’d like to stop at your Apprenticeship or if you would like to continue toward your Journeyman and Master Craftsman.
Requirements:
Regularly attend sacrament meeting and Sunday Relief Society meetings (where possible), keep a journal, read the Book of Mormon regularly, record your progress on the provided sheets at the back of the book, and complete the required goal experiences in the various departments.
